She WON!!!

Okay...so last week I posted about Emma's Sunday Snapshot post.

Today, I'm posting about it again.

Because.
She.
WON!!!

Oh, yes, she did!

Emma has been super-challenged by Stefani's Sunday Snapshot Contest each week and has been learning so much from her and other blogging photographers who share their learning and knowledge.

It has been a big goal of Emma's to win 1st place on Sunday Snapshot.

And this week she did!

And not only did she win there...but she won here, too!

Both gals had the sweetest things to say about Emma, Lily, Emma's blog and her heart. (Not to mention all of the comments that touch my heart and leave me reaching for a tissue!)

I am so proud of her for...really soooo much...but for setting a goal and working toward it.

I also happen to love the fact that the photo she won with was of our sweet Lily!

Here's the winner....

And here's another of my favorites...

and another...

Emma's Sunday Snapshot

I was going to post tonight with better pictures of Lily's leg (taken by Emma, of course!)...but  Emma's Sunday Snapshot  has me looking at it over and over and over again.

Go take a peek...

Hello New Leg...Hello Kitty

Last week Lily's received her new leg!

Lily with her old leg

This leg is different in so many ways.

A little sister love while waiting for the unveiling of the new leg....

The most significant difference is that it has a new knee...a polycentric knee...that is able to bend without any assistance from mom, yet has some resistance/tension in it so that it isn't simply a hinge knee like had been tried (unsuccessfully) before.  It seems like a really good option for Lily upon initial inspection.

Not the best picture my phone has ever taken, but it will have to do...

She has a new larger foot...for her other to catch up to!
Lily getting her new SureStep foot brace for her other foot.

The pattern on the socket is Hello Kitty!  A favorite of Lily's for the last several months.

The leg is quite a bit heavier than the old one...that will take some adjusting to for Miss Lily...and some extra calorie intake.  Lugging around a prosthetic causes extra calorie burn for a prosthetic wearer.

The socket is much tighter around her limb than the last one.  That has been making it a challenge for me to get it on her!  Tomorrow we return to Mr. Don and we'll talk through this particular issue and some discomfort she's been having.  Please pray we'll get a perfect fit for her!

Lily was unsure about walking on the new leg, understandably.  However, she's been cruising furniture with it on and walking with her walker and while holding our hands.

She's even taken some independent steps several times a day.  That's all fine and good until the knee gives out on her!  Then we have one unhappy little girl!

It hasn't stopped her from racing her brother, however!

That picture and these next ones were taken by Emma...do you notice a major little improvement in photo taking ability?

 On your marks...get set...

GOOOO!!!!

And they're off to the races...again!  (Aren't they too cute?!)
